This Week In Lockdown
Happy Monday fellow quarantiners. How are you feeling? This morning I went for a brisk walk in the countryside and it made such a world of difference to my overall mood and well being. I put on my brand new workout clothing and off I went. It’s amazing how much better I felt in myself just by wearing a proper gym kit rather than my tired old leggings and T-shirt. It’s all well and good working out at home which I do but nothing beats the great outdoors, fresh air, the sound of birds, the green of the trees and fields. I always feel grounded and calm in nature. I used to be a bit scared going for a walk by myself but pretty much everyone is out and about now. I do like to go when it’s early though so it’s not too busy and keep to routes I’m familiar with.
When I get back at around 11 am I sit with a lovely cup of coffee and just sit with a bit of quiet preferably outside. This just helps me take stock.
It’s ok to have days where you are not feeling the best and just want to binge-watch Tiger King and eat crisps! You don’t have to be baking banana bread if you don’t fancy it. There is always tomorrow and the next. Listen to how you feel in yourself and don’t berate yourself for not doing enough. We are all in the same boat and we have very different energy levels. Take this time to do what you need to for your own mental health. Limit social media as it can send you into a tizzy!
If you are in a funk and want to get out of it, have a lovely shower, moisturise, put some fresh new clothes on and do your hair and makeup. Make a cup of coffee and take it from there.
‘It will all be alright in the end, and if it’s not alright, it’s not the end’. John Lennon
i am a Beatles fanatic and was not familiar with that quote. I love it. And love the photo of the trees and pond is beautiful. Nature definitely can change your mood for the better. Thanks so much for posting.
It’s one of my all-time favourite quotes, it always makes me feel better. Thank you for stopping by ♥
