Summer Skincare Edit
Hello lovely reader, lets talk skincare. Do you change up your skincare regime with the seasons? What your skin craves in the Winter months might be overload in the Summer. It’s time to audit your skincare shelf and address your current skin needs. As the weater gets hotter, skin is more prone to becoming oily and clogged due to sweating, extra spf application and perhaps not cleansing as thourghly as you should. I’ve switched my everday Cerave Foaming cleanser to iS Clinical Cleansing Complex, which is a gentle yet effect exfoliating cleanser. It is ideal for acne, combination skin.
What It Does
- Light resurfacing formula
- Decongests the pores and removes oil
- Can be used to remove make-up
- Ideal for all skin types
After removing my makeup this clever cleanser effectively removes excess oils, impurities and any left over make-up from the surface of the skin while managing to go deep within the pores to loosen debris and bacteria. This is especailly imperative if you wear a suncreen as they can be tricky remove completley.
Toner, do you need one? It’s a personal preference, I like to use one because it completes the cleansing process making sure every last scrap of makeup is removed and prepares skin for your treatments, serums and moisturisers. Epionce Purifying Toner is alchol free so it won’t try out skin, it’s also a great choice for teenagers and men. Swipe over skin after cleansing with a cotton pad for fresh, clear, comfortable skin.
What It Does
- Clarifies oily skin types
- Removes problem bacteria
- Controls shine and oil production
- Apply after cleansing
‘Antioxidants and Vitamin C – Often referred to as the holy grail of skincare, vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that helps to reduce pigmentation and inflammation and can also boost collagen and protect against pollution. As we age, our skin’s natural levels of vitamin C decreases, which is why it’s great to include it in your daily skincare routine.’ -Independant
I have been using the iS Pro Heal Serum Advanced, which is ideal for sensitive, acne prone and rosacea skin types. I apply this in the morning after cleansing before Hyaluronic Acid and SPF.
What It Does
- Encourages skin healing
- Reduces redness and irritation
- Contains Vitamins A, C and E
- Suitable for acne and rosacea sufferers
The last step of you Summer skincare routine ( this applies all year round, yes, even on cloudy days ) is your sun protection or SPF minimum of 30! No, makeup does not count! My favourite is Heliocare Advanced Gel Cream SPF 50. This is a light weight gel cream that feels more like a daily moisturiser than a sun cream. It sits well under makeup and most importantly agrees with my oily, acne prone skin.
What It Does
- High factor facial sunscreen
- Water-resistant, non-comedogenic formula
- Promotes DNA repair
- Perfect for oily and acne-prone skin
In summery switching up a few of your products for the season can be really beneficial to the look and feel of your skin.
