SMOKEY EYES & NUDE LIPS
A smokey eye can be quite daunting at times but it’s actually much more straightforward than most eye looks. I’ve said this before but it’s all about the blending, the more you blend the more diffused the shades become thus creating a soft-focus finish that is completely seamless. Start by using a light shade that’s close to your natural skin colour in the crease contour, this will be your transition shade and help you navigate the rest of your shades. Slowly add the next shade up from your previous shade, so something slightly darker focusing more on the outer edge of the eye and right into the crease. You want to create a soft transition from one shade to the next. A quick tip is to apply said shades to the lower lash line as you go along so you avoid adding too much colour too quickly which will look heavy and drag the eye down. The darkest shade you use will be applied to the movable part of the eyelid staying well below the crease. Here you can pack the colour layer by layer to achieve that dark base. You can use any colour you wish from gray to purple it’s up to you! Here’s what I used:
Urban Decay Naked Heat transition shades: Sauced, Low Blow, Cayenne.
Urban Decay Naked Heat lid shade: Ashes
Urban Decay Naked 3 lid shade: Blackheart – I packed this on top of the previous dark shade Ashes.
Nude lips are the essential finishing touch to this smokey eye look. My favourite combination lately, is Hourglass Femme Nude Lip Stylo in the shade Nude 4 and MAC lip pencil in the shade Boldly Bare.
