My Signature Makeup Look
As much as I enjoy experimenting with different makeup looks and trends I always have my fail-safe makeup look to fall back on which I now call my signature look. It’s the look I go for when I want to feel my most confident self. I have carefully curated a selection of products throughout the years that I know work for my skin type and tone. The look itself is me but better, it’s the perfect in-between by not being too over or underdone. It enhances my features without making me unrecognizable.
For me, my skin has always been my biggest insecurity, having dealt with Acne most of my life. Even though it’s under control I still prefer a full coverage foundation. This doesn’t have to look heavy if you apply it correctly. I opt for beauty blenders or a Real Techniques Buffing Brush depending on the day.
For this look I custom blend two of my favourite foundations, Estee Lauder Double Wear in the shade 3N1 Ivory Beige and bareMinerals barePro Performace Wear in the shade 12 Warm Natural. I find the combination to provide a skin-like finish that is long-lasting.
I don’t go a day without bronzer and this one by Hourglass is a repurchase and worth every penny! If you have a heavy hand like me, applying bronzer can be a bit daunting and can end up looking muddy if overdone. Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer in the shade Bronze Light is foolproof. It applies seamlessly, giving skin a beautiful luminous glow.
I live for a nude lip and this combo is incredible! Too Faced Melted Matte in the shade Child Star is a gorgeous light pink nude and is the perfect long-lasting base for Nars Velvet Lip Glide in the shade Stripped. This won’t budge no matter how many cups of coffee you have.
For eyes, I never stray far from my neutrals and my most used eyeshadow palette has to be Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics. As you can see I mainly use the first three shadows. They might not look like much in the palette but once applied they look so natural that you will have people guessing whether you are wearing eyeshadow or not. They are so easy and smooth to blend. I use the darkest shade at the bottom as an eyeliner. Using a really dense brush I press the product really close to my lashline. This gives the illusion of fuller lashes.
