My Holy Grail Foundation & Powder Combo

You know when you hit the makeup jackpot where you get everything just right? Well I think I’ve found it! I have loved Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation for a number of years now. It works so well on my oily skin, it always looks good and lasts as long as I need it to. I’ve tried all sorts of powders from pressed, loose, mineral, translucent to tinted, high-end to drugstore. My most long term powder had been the Laura Mercier Translucent powder. I recently finished the LM and was on the market for a new powder. I came across the Estee Lauder Sheer Flattery Loose Powder which comes in two finish options, Matte and Glow. They also come in various shades from light to medium to translucent. Being the makeup obsesso that I am, I decided to read all the reviews initially thinking I would go for the matte in light. I kept seeing positive reviews on the shade translucent glow and my interest was peeked! Well, I thought this was very interesting because a lot of the reviewers stated that they also had oily skin and that this powder was really flattering. So as you can imagine I was immediately sold on the Translucent Glow and let me tell you it did not disappoint! Paired with the double wear foundation it is a winning combination. It’s a beautifully light weight, ultra fine powder that leaves skin with a velvety soft finish that isn’t flat. I especially like to apply it with the puff that comes with it.

You press the puff into the netting which releases the perfect amount of powder each time and gently pat onto skin. There is absolutely no shimmer or shine just a soft matte finish that sets foundation perfectly.
