Charlotte Tilbury Experience

I had the most wonderful morning with the super glamorous girls at Charlotte Tilbury in The Bentalls centre, Kingston. They have the most incredible counter I have ever seen! It’s like being whisked away into a magical makeup haven where all your troubles melt away. I felt welcomed immediately which was really refreshing to see. I got to choose one of the ten iconic makeup looks for my makeover and I went straight for Golden Goddess!

Step 1.  Skin: The very beautiful and talented makeup artist, Sophie prepped my skin with Multi-Miracle Glow, a cream to oil balm enriched with vitamins and floral extracts that help keep skin looking fresh and youthful. This smelled divine! Next was the best selling Magic Cream which is loved by model’s and celebrities. It’s packed full of multi-tasking anti-aging peptides that work to stimulate collagen production and reveal plumped, glowing, healthy skin. As if my skin wasn’t fabulous enough already on went the incredible Wonderglow Anti-Ageing primer,which provides an instant soft-focus effect, bringing tired, dull skin to life! I felt like I was in a luxury spa getting a facial. My skin looked and felt nourished and pampered.

Step 2. Base: I was so excited to try the makeup, especially the Magic Foundation which provides medium to full coverage but feels weightless and is suitable for all ages, skin type and tone. This looks superb on camera. To set the foundation, Sophie used Airbrush Flawless Finish, a micro-fine powder that magically blurs fine lines and imperfections. No one will ever call you cake face again! To brighten under the eyes and for on the go touch-ups, The Retoucher Concealer will be your handbag hero. It’s inspired by the pen professional photographers use to airbrush away imperfections. Black tea which is rich in vitamins help to create a smooth and seamless finish that won’t crease or settle into fine lines.

Step 3. Contour and Highlight: Now I’m sure you have all heard about the Filmstar Bronze and Glow if you haven’t you will wish you did! This clever compact contains your perfect contour and highlight to give you chiselled cheekbones in a flash!Don’t skip the blush, Charlotte’s Cheek to Chic Swish and Pop blusher with it’s two step method make application a breeze! Swish on the outer shade first and pop the centre shade directly on the apples of your cheeks for that ultimate healthy glow.

Step 4. Eyes: The Golden Goddess Palette has to be the most stunning collection of shadows I’ve seen from any beauty brand. Each palette is cleverly colour-coded so you will know exactly where to place each shade. This fail-safe method with take you from desk to dancefloor with a swirl of your brush. For extra Va Va Voom, line your upper and inner lashline with The Classic Eyeliner Pencil, in Audrey for that soft smokey effect that is gentle on even sensitive eyes. Finish off with Full Fat Lashes, a 5 in 1 mascara that will curl, separate, volumise, lengthen, and dramatise your lashes. No falsies here!

Step 5. Lips: Cheat your way to the perfect pout, with Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk, a rich velvety lipliner that’s waterproof and smudge proof! It also lasts for up to six hours so you can ensure your lips won’t stray whatever you are up to. Sexy Sienna was my lipstick of choice, inspired by the gorgeous Sienna Miller obviously! A golden coral shade that’s a perfect match for the Golden Goddess herself.

The Finished Look: I was delighted with the complete look. I felt like a brand new me! Glamorous yet not overdone, classy and elegant. This was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had at a makeup counter and I’ve been to quite a few! The girls made me feel extra special for the day and very comfortable to be there. They have so much knowledge on the products that no question was left unanswered. I highly suggest you pay them a visit because you will not be disappointed. Treat yourself or someone special to a new makeup look or just to learn some new tips and tricks.
