Summer Makeup | Bright Lips

I love to change up my makeup in the Summer, and nothing screams heat more than a red-hot lip! I like to keep it modern and relaxed by wearing a matte lip as I find that this stay put whilst eating and drinking which I did a lot of last night. NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in the shade Morocco is probably the only red I own because it’s pretty much foolproof to apply and doesn’t require touch-ups because you know, who’s got time for that when there is Champagne to drink! For my foundation, the new love of my life Too Faced Peach Perfect Comfort Matte in the shade warm nude is simply perfect day or night. It is just incredible for hot weather, it looks natural, stays shine free and is transfer resistant. I can’t rave about this enough! For my eyes, I tend to stick with one shadow all over the lid and I just love the shade Chopper from the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette. I like to experiment with different colour eye pencils and I recently picked up Estee Lauder Double Wear Pencil in Burgundy Suede, a pretty aubergine/eggplant which just makes brown eyes pop! It makes for a softer alternative smoky eye look as it’s not as harsh as black. Why not try an Emerald green or Cobalt blue? all of these would go brilliantly with a bright lip.

Ok, now for the dress that I have been practically living in daily since I bought it for £6 at Primark! This blue and white striped maxi dress is so comfortable makes me feel put together and keeps me cool as it doesn’t cling to thighs. If like me you have a rather bountiful booty you will find that these types of dresses are extremely flattering and will be your best friend in the heat. Pair it with flats during the day and wedges for the evening. I had such a lovely time at our family BBQ, it’s a great way to get together, sit in the garden, eating, drinking, chatting and having a good old laugh!
