Makeup Look Of The Day | How To Wear Red Eyeshadow
It’s fun to change up your makeup look and experiment with various trends and colours once in awhile. It could be a new look for a night out or special event or maybe you’re bored with your current makeup look and fancy trying something different. Tip: do practise the makeup look beforehand just in case you don’t like it. Step out of your comfort zone and play with shades you wouldn’t normally go for or textures that are new to you like mattes or shimmers. Don’t think that you have to stay away from certain shades or styles because you think that they won’t suit you. Anything can work if applied correctly. Red and pink tones can easily make eyes look sore or tired if applied alone. The key here is adding in deeper tones of the same shade family and by balancing out the rest of your makeup to correspond with said tones. I created this look using the Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette ( see full review and shades here ) I like to start with the lightest shade all over my lid as a base colour this helps the darker shadows to blend. I then take the medium shades into the crease of my eye to create soft and subtle definition. The darkest shades are used on the very outer edge of my eye and close to the lash line for a sultry elongated effect drawing the eyes up and out. To really make eyes pop apply a bright glimmer shade on the centre of the eyelid, this really brings dimension to the look. If I’m going glam I can’t resist a feline flick! For this, I use the Kat Von D Tattoo Liquid Liner in Trooper. This is so easy to apply even for me and it lasts ages! I like to offset the warm tone on the eyes with a cooler tone lip colour. I’m using Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in the colour Baci. I love these they hold up incredibly well throughout the day, feel comfortable on the lips and come in a wide range of colours. Keep blush neutral pop on some highlight and you are good to go! Be bold and brave and remember it’s only makeup at the end of the day, it washes off.
