Makeup For Oily Skin
Being a beauty obsessive and makeup junkie I have tried an unmentionable amount of products throughout the years but I always come back to these select few. I have oily/combination skin with large pores and the occasional breakout. I want something that holds up throughout the day that requires little touch ups and has great coverage. Preparation of your skin before you apply your makeup also makes a big difference so make sure you have properly cleansed and applied the correct moisturiser for your skin type. I like Bliss Fabulous Drench ‘N’ Quench.
Primer – Soap and Glory One Heck Of Blot is one of the best mattifying primers I’ve used and it’s only £10! This smooths out pores and locks my foundation in place, controlling oil brilliantly.
Foundation– Estee Lauder Double Wear is hands down the most long-wearing foundation ever! This is an oily skinned girls dream. It never lets me down. It makes skin look perfect from every angle and is flawless in person and on photography. It doesn’t fade or rub off and stays true to colour.
Concealer– MAC Pro Longwear is the perfect consistency that brightens and conceals my undereye circles. I apply it with a damp beauty blender. It doesn’t crease or settle into fine lines and sets to a soft focus matte finish.
Powder– Rimmel Stay Matte is what I call “cheap as chips” it does exactly what it says on the tin. I apply this all over to set my foundation. It’s undetectable on the skin and holds up a good eight hours without re-touching.
Urban Decay Primer Potion– Yes even my eyelids get oily but with this eye primer shadows stay put from morning to night. I get no creasing or disintergrating of shadows. They stay as vibrant and fresh as when I first applied them.
[…] Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay In Place Makeup SPF 10 – This is a full coverage foundation that will not melt, smudge or budge. It does exactly what it says on the tin. It’s legit bullet proof! I have worn this in torrential rain and it still looked picture perfect. It lasts well past 15 hours ( I’ve worn it for 24hrs ) with no need to touch up. The best way to apply this without it looking cakey and heavy is with a damp beauty blender. It gives the most airbrushed finish to the skin. I wear the shade 2w1 Dawn. P.S if you need a pump for your bottle you can buy them from MAC. […]
As you mentioned, skin prep is key. Depending on the season, I have dry/dehydrated/combo skin and the double wear foundation and stay matte powder are my staples as well as long as I pair them with a very hydrating base. My favourite is the Laura Mercier hydrating primer. 🙂
I do like Laura Mercier primers! I agree with using a hydrating base with double wear.
