Drugstore Makeup Look
The quality of drugstore makeup has come a long way since the day of chalky formulas and limited shade ranges. I have always trusted Revlon as a brand as everything I had ever tried from them I loved. Color Stay, in particular, was a huge favourite of mine. I went through bottles of the stuff. I haven’t used it for years and thought why not revisit it and see if it’s still as good as I remember. Let me tell you it’s even better! It now comes with a pump and the formula itself is so light yet gives immediate medium to full coverage that looks so smooth and undetectable on the skin. I get the one for oily/combo skin which has an SPF of 15. I picked up the shade Natural Tan which will see me through the Summer. The oil control of this foundation is impressive, with no need to blot come lunchtime. I also picked up the concealer which I’m totally blown away by! It’s comparable to MAC Pro Longwear and at £6.99 you can’t go wrong. It’s smooth, not cakey and doesn’t settle into fine lines. I picked up the shade light/medium as I didn’t want to go too bright under the eyes for Summer. Boots is currently doing 3 for 2 on most makeup brands so naturally, I had to make use of the deal and picked up a lipliner in the shade blush which I’ve been wearing non-stop so far. It’s the perfect rosy pink lip colour that just looks like your lips but better. On to MUA Bronzed Perfection Matte, this is a brand I’m relatively new to which is available from Superdrug. Everything about this bronzer is perfect! It’s the most velvety soft powder I think I’ve ever had the pleasure of swiping my fingers through. The shade is Sunset Tan, it has no orange or grey undertone which makes it perfect for contour and subtle bronzing. If you are fair skinned or new to bronzer I highly recommend you give this a go because you cannot go wrong and at £4.99 it’s a real winner in my books!
Let me know what some of your favourite drugstore brands are.
